Thank you so much for another robust meeting! As a reminder, the next SNOAC meeting will be Thursday, July 17th from 10a-12p. As with previous meetings, this meeting will be hybrid and you can attend in-person at Roseman University (1 Breakthrough Way Las Vegas, NV 89135) or virtually via Zoom. Southern Nevada Substance Misuse and Overdose Prevention Summit
CALL FOR WORKSHOPS NOW OPEN!
The Southern Nevada Substance Misuse and Overdose Prevention Summit Planning Committee is excited to announce that the 2025 Call for Workshops is now open! We encourage folks from all different sectors and pillars to submit workshop proposals to the 2025 summit. Workshops are limited to 75 minutes per session and interactivity with the audience is highly encouraged. Please see the application for the full details surrounding workshop proposals.

Registration for the summit will be $25 per person and there will be unlimited scholarships available. Individuals will just need to complete the scholarship application.

Fund for a Resilient Nevada released their 2024 Annual Report
About: The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Fund for a Resilient Nevada (FRN) team is pleased to provide this third annual report to Nevada’s leadership and for review to Nevada partners. The FRN are opioid recovery dollars received through litigation to address the adverse impacts of questionable practices surrounding opioid distribution and use. This report encompasses priority projects and spending for the State of Nevada distribution of opioid recoveries. We will discuss: harm reduction a personal safety strategy, harm reduction as a moment, the principles of harm reduction, risk and protective factors for substance use, drug-related stigma, impact of drug-related stigma on recovery, medicated assisted treatment, and so much more! Overdose Response with Naloxone Training of Trainers
Date: Tuesday, June 3rd from 1:30p-5p
Location: Southern Nevada Health District (280 S Decatur Blvd. Las Vegas, NV 89107)
Cost: This training is grant funded and provided at no-cost.
About: This training is by invitation only, please reach out to Lori Bryan at bryanl@snhd.org if you are interested in this opportunity. This class is open to trainers who wish to become educated with current information about the illicit drug supply in our community and the current best practices for reversing overdoses. At the end of this training, you should be equipped with the knowledge and tools to train others in overdose response with naloxone, understand opioids and their effects, and educate others on common myths regarding drug overdose and fentanyl. Prerequisite work required and will be sent by email.
