Follow Up: SNOAC 2025 Q4 General Meeting

Good afternoon SNOAC Community,

Thank you so much for another robust meeting! As a reminder, the next SNOAC meeting will be our Holiday Party and will be Thursday, December 4th from 10a-12pm! At this meeting there will be snacks and warm drinks as you network with your fellow attendees and voice your opinions on what you feel should be the SNOAC priorities in 2026! This gathering and feedback session will be held in-person only at the Center at 401 S Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89101. The next SNOAC meeting will be Thursday, February 5th from 10a-12p. As with previous meetings, this meeting will be hybrid and you can attend in-person at Roseman University (3755 Breakthrough Way, Classroom 200, Las Vegas, NV 89135) or virtually via Zoom.   • SNOAC Holiday Gathering

    • Date: Thursday, December 4th from 10a-12p

      • Due to the interactivity of the gathering, there will not be a virtual option to attend.

    • About: You have been invited to attend the Southern Nevada Opioid Advisory Council (SNOAC) Planning Meeting and Winter Gathering! At this meeting there will be snacks and warm drinks as you network with your fellow attendees and voice your opinions on what you feel should be the SNOAC priorities in 2026! This is a flexible gathering and you are welcome to come anytime between 10 and 12 stay for as long as you would like in the meeting- whether that is 10 minutes or the full 2 hours. We hope to see you there!

  • Call for 2025 SNSMOPS Planning Committee

    • About: The call for the 2026 Summit Planning Committee is upon us once again! The planning committee is a critical part of the success of the summit every year. They are the beating heart of the summit and up to 15 people are welcome to join this special opportunity.

    • What to expect: Planning committee members are expected to attend 1 hour planning meetings once a month every month leading up to the summit starting in approx. January or February and then 2 planning committee meetings in the month of July. There will be occasional work in-between meetings to approve or suggest critical parts of the summit like theme and title.

  • HR 101: The Basics of Harm Reduction

    • Date: Tuesday, January 13th from 8a-12p

    • Location: Virtual

    • Cost: Free

    • About: This interactive adult training provides participants with an in-depth overview of harm reduction concepts. This workshop provides a foundation in the philosophy, principles, and practices of harm reduction in the context of the United States. Participants will learn more tools to understand the different types and levels of harm. Our goal is that through guided discussion and activities, participants will develop practical skills and increased knowledge to use in their work with people who currently are or formerly have used drugs, with an emphasis on injection drug use.

  • HR 201: Understanding Drug-Related Stigma

    • About: This training takes a critical look at the history of the substance misuse movement and its impact on recovery and health outcomes in our community. This workshop will introduce the concepts of social inequalities faced by people who use drugs, the stigma they experience, and how this impacts their ability to access services
